Privacy Policy

Grove ("we", "us", or "our") built the Grove app as a free productivity tool. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our app.

1. Data We Collect

Grove stores the following data locally on your device only:

  • Task names and time logs you create
  • App settings (theme preference, daily free time goal)

This data is never uploaded to any server and is never accessible to us or any third party.

2. Data Storage and Security

Task data is stored locally in an SQLite database on your device. This database is not encrypted at the application level. We recommend using your device's built-in screen lock to protect your data from unauthorized physical access.

3. Third-Party Services

Grove uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

  • Expo Updates — When the app checks for updates, your device sends your app version, runtime version, and device platform to Expo's servers. No task data or personal information is included. Review Expo's Privacy Policy.
  • Notifee — Local notifications are handled entirely on-device by Notifee. No notification data leaves your device.

4. Your Rights

You can delete all data at any time by:

  • Tapping Settings → Clear All Settings within the app, or
  • Uninstalling the app from your device

We do not retain any backups of your data because we never receive it.

5. GDPR and CCPA

This app does not sell your data. Because all data is stored locally and never transmitted to us, we do not hold any personal data about you. EU and California users who have questions about their data rights may contact us at the address below.

6. Children's Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app contains no features that require personal information.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
